At ColorSpace, we respect your right to privacy and your right to request the deletion of your personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

This page explains how you can request the deletion of your personal data and what to expect during the process.

1. Your Right to Data Deletion

You have the right to request that we:

• Delete personal information we hold about you;

• Anonymise your personal information where deletion is not legally possible;

• Restrict or object to certain types of data processing.

This right applies to both Buyers and Content Creators using the ColorSpace platform.

2. What Data Can Be Deleted

Upon verified request, we may delete the following personal information:

• Your account profile details (name, email, username)

• Login credentials

• Uploaded content (where legally permissible)

• Communication records

• Usage and activity data linked to your account

3. Data That May Be Retained

Please note that certain information cannot be deleted immediately due to legal or contractual obligations. This may include:

• Transaction and payment records (for tax, accounting, or legal compliance)

• Licensing records for purchased or sold content

• Records required to prevent fraud or misuse

• Information required by South African law

Such data will be securely retained only for the legally required period and will not be used for marketing purposes.

4. How to Request Data Deletion

To request deletion of your personal information, please follow one of the methods below:

Option 1: Logged-in Users

• Log into your ColorSpace account

• Navigate to Account Settings

• Select Delete Account or Request Data Deletion

• Follow the on-screen instructions

Option 2: Email Request

Send an email to support@colorspace.co.za with the subject line:
“Data Deletion Request”

Please include:

• Your registered email address

• Your username

• A clear request for data deletion

We may request additional information to verify your identity before processing your request.

5. Processing Time

Once your identity has been verified:

• We aim to process deletion requests within 30 days

• You will receive confirmation once the process is complete

• In complex cases, we may notify you if additional time is required

6. Effects of Data Deletion

After deletion:

• Your account will be permanently deactivated

• You will lose access to purchased content downloads

• Any remaining earnings (for Content Creators) must be withdrawn prior to deletion

• Deleted data cannot be recovered

7. Third-Party Services

We will notify relevant third-party service providers (such as hosting or analytics providers) of your deletion request where applicable. However, their independent data retention policies may apply.

8. Withdrawal of Consent

If you previously gave consent for data processing, you may withdraw this consent at any time by submitting a data deletion request. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before the withdrawal.

9. Complaints and Regulatory Rights

If you believe your data protection rights have been violated, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.
