Boys II Men Address

In this evocative photograph, Sepedi boys, covered in the traditional reddish mud called "motsoku," are addressed by the chief, or "nduna," who hosted and guided them through their rite of passage into manhood. The nduna imparts his final words of wisdom, preparing the young men for their new roles in the community. He then releases them to their families for joyous festivities. This image captures the deep respect for tradition and the strong communal bonds of Sepedi culture.
